Cathey Miller graduated
from Art Center College of Design in 1985, and moved to New York City
where she worked as a freelance illustrator for two years. Because there
was no decent salsa, she moved to Texas, and started her own art studio
catering to interior designers and also began painting large scale jobs
for clients in television and theater.
"I have run
crews of painters on large scale jobs and have used a 4 hair brush to
render a postage stamp on an envelope.
I have painted on rugs, chairs, astroturf, walls, ceilings, cars, dresses,
jackets, styrofoam, metal, canvas, muslin, naked ladies, linoleum, carpet,
wood, brick, plastic food, and cement.
I have made boxes full of origami butterflies, carved mounds of foamcore
flowers ,and gold leafed an assortment of items.
I am adept at ladders, compressors, airguns, big brushes, little brushes,
stamping, stenciling, tracing, projecting, measuring, using a scale
ruler, giving proper estimates, and meeting deadlines every single time.
